Carnegiea giguntea (Saguaro cactus)

As one of the giants in the cactus family, it is used more often in movies and television than any other cactus. Native in the Southwestern U.S and Northwest Mexico its a very tall but slow growing cactus. It takes about 150 years to reach its impressive stature of over 40 feet. The saguaro is non the less a beautiful columnar cactus. Moderately easy to grow, it requires good drainage as they are sensitive to waterlogging.
