Echinopsis crassicaulis 'Red Velvet'

 Echinopsis crassicaulis 'lobivia red velvet’ is a compact, slow-growing cactus admired for its dark green body, strong spines, and richly colored red blooms. Over time it will form offsets and develop into a dense clump, making it an excellent choice for collectors who enjoy plants with both sculptural form and dramatic flowers. The stems remain relatively small, but the blossoms are large in proportion to the plant and appear in warm weather, often creating a vivid contrast against the darker body. Its bold color, manageable size, and reliable blooming habit make it especially appealing for containers, windowsills, and specialty cactus collections.

Care: Give bright light to full sun, with gradual acclimation to stronger exposure to prevent scorch. Use a very fast-draining cactus mix with plenty of mineral material such as pumice, coarse sand, or perlite; a deeper pot can help accommodate its root system.
